HOW CAN I MAKE YOU LOVE ME?
HOW CAN I MAKE YOU LOVE ME?
In How can I make you love me? by Liza Shkirando the faceless Monster embodies the "Other" - a figure imagined as a grotesque threat to justify exclusion and displacement. The Monster is here to confront the fears we project onto the Other. Trapped in a Sisyphean search for belonging The Other doesn’t leave its attempts to find its land, its soil. This unproductive labour, the act of searching becomes the meaning of one’s existence. Liza Shkirando points out the absurdity of a concept of national identity and the work that has to be done to deserve it.
