PAINTINGS
Bodies are consumed by the state and by the war under a false propaganda narrative of nurturing and caring about people. Bodily fluids are a symbol of life, birth and conception while they are percieved as disgusting and obscene in the western society.
Who owns and consumes our bodies? The state, our parents and children, society, our romantic partner, our employer? Does it ever fully belong to ourselves?
Each painting is a process of digging into my strongest emotions: fear, anxiety, guilt and shame. The paintings create consensual intimate experience between the artist and the audience, making a spectator vulnerable through discomfort.
